CRITTER CABIN
June 4 – August 17 – weather permitting
The Critter Cabin will be open for nose-to-nose encounters with some stars of the education animal team from 9:00-11:45 a.m. and again at 2:00-4:45 p.m. each day.

Stars include hedgehogs, ferrets, blue-tongue skink, breaded dragon, California king snake, and African millipedes, just to name a few.

SAVANNAH TRAIN RIDE
(seasonal/outdoors – weather dependent, call first)
Tour Africa on the Zoo’s train, the Savannah Express! Enjoy a behind-the-scenes guided tour from our train conductor. The Savannah Express will run mid-May through Labor Day (daily) and September 7 through October 3 (weekends only). Rides run every ½ hour from 10am to 5:30pm. The cost is $1 per person.

CARROUSEL
(seasonal – weather dependent, call first)
The custom-designed carrousel consists of six horses, three zebras, an elephant, white rhino, gorilla, dolphin, deer, rooster, cheetah, and two panda bears. The Carrousel also has a handicap-accessible bench seat. The Carrousel is located in the center of the Great Plains Zoo, near the Children’s Zoo. Rides on the Carrousel are $1 per person.

The Carrousel is open daily during the summer. It may also be open on school holidays and weekends during the rest of the year – depending on the weather and attendance.
